What it is:

A simple kit that lets you control your lights wirelessly without complex installation. Keep the same style as your existing switches - no drilling or complicated wiring needed.

How it works:

When the battery-powered switch module senses a change in the attached switch, it transmits to the receiver to switch the lights (see the video).

Quick specs:

Receiver supply 100-240VAC 50/60Hz
Maximum load 6A
Receiver dimensions 73mm x 43mm x 26mm
Module dimensions 59mm x 20mm x 18mm
Wireless range 15 meters (2.4GHz)
Battery life 5 years (AAAA)

Inside the box, you will find:

  • Wireless Receiver with integrated relay.
  • Wireless Switch Modules including AAAA batteries.
  • A Wiring Guide and Installation Instructions.

Installation options:

  •  Standalone setup: Connect the receiver directly to your lights to use wireless switches only.
    Standalone setup diagram
  • Add on to an existing switch: Connect the receiver to your current switch to use both the physical switch and wireless switch in a 2-way arrangement.
    With existing setup diagram

Quick tip: Already have a light switch? You only need the 1-transmitter kit to add another switch location for a 2-way setup. View the wiring diagram here.

Key features:

  • No WiFi needed.
  • Switch and receiver come pre-paired.
  • Order multiple transmitters to switch lights from different locations.
  • Signal works through walls up to 15 meters away.
  • Use multiple kits in the same location without interference.
  • Long battery life (5 years).
  • Reliable connection with no interference from other wireless devices.

Tips for best use:

  • Contactors and relays with AC coils can emit electromagnetic noise. If you intend to use such equipment nearby, ensure that there is at least 600mm separation from the receiver.
  • Ambient temperature maximum is 45°C. Avoid enclosing the receiver with sources of heat like drivers, transformers, or luminaires.
  • Metal sheeting can reduce the wireless range. Where possible, avoid using metal enclosures to house the units.
  • Need to control gates or other momentary pulse loads? Contact our support team and we'll provide a special version designed for this purpose.

Time saving installation

Purchased product as running cables was going to be difficult. Installed using a single Clipsal 2000 series light switch. Works perfectly. Waiting to see how long the 2 x AAAA batteries last. Batteries came with the unit. Note. You do hear an audible click of the contact on the switching device. Quite happy with the result as getting into the roof space with air con ducts was going to be a challenge. 15 minutes to install.

Great product and communication

Needed one of the GEM wireless switch kits in a pinch in Perth, WA. I messaged to confirm the order and they replied quickly to let me know it had been processed and was on its way. Arrived a couple of days later, was a very straightforward installation and worked exactly as intended. Wouldn’t hesitate to use again and am sure I will soon enough.
